Robert S. Wetherbee is a President and Chief Executive Officer of Allegheny Technologies, Inc.(ATI)
a specialty metals company and global manufacturer. In this role, Mr. Wetherbee provides oversight to ensure the continued independent and efficient operation of the Board and serves as a liaison between the independent members of the Board and ATI's management. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Manufacturers Alliance.
Prior to the position, Mr. Wetherbee served as ATI’s Executive Vice President of Flat Rolled Products, since January 2015, and President of ATI Flat Rolled Products in April 2014. Mr. Wetherbee was President and Chief Executive Officer of Minerals Technologies, Inc. from March 2013 to February 2014. Prior to that, he was President of ATI’s tungsten materials business from 2010 through 2012, following a 29-year career with Alcoa Inc.
Mr. Wetherbee brings more than 40 years of professional experience to CMC's Board. He currently serves as the Board Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of ATI Inc., a global producer of high-performance materials and solutions for the global aerospace and defense markets, and critical applications in electronics, medical, and specialty energy. Prior to being named CEO of ATI in 2019, he held the position of Executive Vice President of ATI's Flat Rolled Products Group. Mr. Wetherbee's professional career has also included key leadership roles in executive, operational, and business development functions at Mineral Technologies, Inc. and Alcoa Inc.
